I have finished another row on my mystery sampler in "The Gift of Stitching" magazine. One more row of alphabet to do and I will have finished Part 1. I have not followed the pattern exactly as I have inserted a "w" in the first row and edited the flowers on the end to accomodate the "w". There was much discussion on this sampler about the missing "W" and the consensus was that in the 18th Century this was quite common. If you check antique books by Sajou, you will see that the "W" is missing in some of their samplers. That being said, I will stitch my sampler as I see fit. Enough said--here is a photo of what I have accomplished so far.
