2016 is coming to a close

2016 is rapidly coming to a close and along with it, many projects were completed this year.  I made 3 Swedish Weaving blankets, 2 pair of pillowcases, numerous clothes alterations, and made all my Christmas cards and ornaments.  Blink twice and we will be in 2017.

I have read many posts about how terrible 2016 was.  We should appreciate what we have in Canada, we could be trying to escape from a war torn country as a refugee.  We have a roof over our heads, a bed to sleep in and food on the table.

My 2016 was filled with all kinds of adventures in the road of life.  I travelled to Toronto for the first time and met all kinds of wonderful people.  I completed a white needlework project from start to finish.  I am more relaxed these days and with less stress, my stomach rarely needs medication.   Some persons were left behind on this road and new people joined me on my journeys.  Its all a matter of perspective.  We said goodbye to my two cats who had reached the ends of their lives.  I miss them but my allergies are so much better.

I have organized events for our local stitchers and for 2017 have managed to acquire a room at the public library in Trenton, ON for all people interested in handwork such as stitching, knitting, crocheting and hand applique.  Come out and see what we are doing.

I worked on row x rows, taught students and have been busy in general.  I am living my life to the fullest of my ability.  2017 is already being planned with all kinds of adventures, one of which will be a trip to Newfoundland where I have never been.

Here are a few photos of some of the projects: hardanger, knitting toques, making angels, knitting baby socks, making table runners, stitching ornaments and doing fusible applique.
